Big Sky Carvers Orvis Exclusive Collection Pintail Decoy- Signed-Man Cave, Cabin
This is an Orvis Exclusive Edition Pintail Drake Decorative Decoy. It was carved for Orvis by Big Sky Carvers of Boseman, Montana, and is signed by J. Oriet but not dated. The decoy is in excellent condition with no damage of any kind that we could observe. It is typical of Big Sky Decoys in that it is finished with paints and transparent stains that give it a rich, natural appearance. It measures about 20 inches long, 5 inches wide, and 6.75 inches tall. It weighs 2 pounds, 5 ounces. Big Sky Carvers made a large number of decorative decoys for many years. This decoy is one of a series they made for the Orvis Company. Pintail Ducks are fairly common in our area and are personal favorites. The drakes are just a beautiful bird and this decoy represents them very well. The decoy’s value is enhanced with the Orvis logo. It would look very nice in any man-cave, cabin, or lodge.
