Life sized carving is stunning! The bird itself measures 16 inches. (The size range given by the Audubon Society for Pileated Woodpeckers, is 15″ – 19″). The carving in its entirety stands 17.5 tall. Piece is numbered 239/1250. This piece has several condition issues and we have included close ups of these areas. The tip of the crest has been broken – see close up. The two uppermost tips of the log have been broken – see close ups. Condition issues considered, this is still a stunning piece. As you can see from the photos, it is hard to notice these.
