Vintage Big Sky Carvers William Bill Reel Rainbow Trout Fish Decoy Carving RARE
PHOTOS OF ACTUAL ITEM. Trout is full sized at 15 inches long. There has never been a more beautiful rainbow trout by Bill Reel than this one, Period! Deep yet vibrant colors in great detail and patina. The oversized heavy duty burl base is simply amazing by itself. One of the pelvic fins was broken off and missing. All other parts in perfect new condition. It does not show when displayed as it should be (as in the first photo). I believe the fin came off in or right after it left the shop due to the position of the wood grub screw, setting the fish too close to the top of the base. This did happen to some of the big sky trout carvings I have seen and this does not mean that the item was defective or inappropriately handled. It takes nothing away from how good this piece really is. NO PO BOX PLEASE! RARE HTF Big Sky Carvers B Reel 3D Trout Fishermen Bait Sign Coat Hat Rack Decor
The sign / coat rack measures approx. 16″ long 29 3/4″ wide and 3 1/2 deep. The sign is handcrafted, hand painted, and has 4 coat hooks on the front. The back has the original paperwork from Big Sky Carvers Master Designer Loyd Meissenburg and it’s signed by artist B Reel. This sign / coat rack is in vintage condition with a few barely noticeable scuffs on the front and a small dent on the side, please see the last 3 pics. Bill Reel born & raised in Whitehall Montana joined Big Sky Carvers craftsmen in 1990 as a featured artist. While working with the Big Sky Carvers team Bill developed an admiration for wildlife with fish carvings being especially intriguing to him. B Reel is most known for his Jumping Rainbow Trout that received high honors at the Masters Fish Carving Competition in 1996 and his 1st Place & Best of Class wins for his rainbow trout carving Big Hole Bullet at the World Fish Carving Competition in 1997. Bills techniques and abilities in carving and airbrushing virtually bring the fish to life through his artwork!
