16 Vintage BIG SKY CARVERS Bill Reel WOOD SCULPTURE RAINBOW TROUT, Signed
This fish is marked with a Big Sky Carvers sticker (Montana) and is absolutely stunning. The trout measures 16″ long and the sculpture measures 9″ tall. The trout sits on a stunning wood base and it would be a great addition to any home, or a perfect gift for that trout fisherman. The sculpture is in excellent condition and would be a great item for any mantle or bureau. I do not end auctions early so no questions are necessary. Big Sky Carvers Canadian Goose Decoy signed and numbered T. Chandler
This is a Big Sky Carvers Canadian Goose carved and signed by Thomas Chandler. It was made as a part of a Special. Edition series commissioned by Ducks Unlimited of Minnesota. It was made in 1991 and is signed by Thomas Chandler and numbered 200/350. It is made of wood and hand painted to show each feather. Chandler is one of the highly respected artists that was affiliated with Big Sky Carvers of Boseman, MT and this one is typical of their products with a combination of paints and stains that give a truly stunning work of wildlife art. It is not life size, measuring 15.5inches from beak to tail. It is 9.5 inches tall, 6.75 inches wide, and weighs about 6 and 1/2 pounds. The decoy is in excellent condition for being nearly 230 years old. There are a couple of mysterious, smooth lines on the back of the decoy that do not appear to be part of the original carving but are very difficult to see unless the light is just right. We could see no other issues. Please look over all the photos as they are part of the description. Big Sky Carvers made hundreds, if not 1000’s of beautiful decoys for a number of years. Geese, such as this one, are less common and difficult to find. We recommend this one as a special gift, possibly for some yo. Ung water fowler who may have had the good fortune to bag one of these majestic birds. We have never had anyone return one of our decoys and cannot imagine anyone not just loving this guy. 1 of 1100 Friends of the NRA Signature edition of Marc Pierce’s beautiful Living Large sculpture. These sculptures are meticulously handcrafted by Big Sky Carvers artists based on Marc Pierce’s own life experiences. Big whitetails amaze me. You can hunt and even live in the same area for years and never see an old mossy horn that has been there all along. There is also nothing more handsome in all of North American than a big, thick-horned whitetail buck. If it wasn’t for the rut, when common sense seems to leave male deer, wed hardly ever see the big ones. But during that brief, crazy period, even the oldest, smartest buck in the county thinks and acts like a teenage boy at the senior prom. I have taken the biggest bucks of my life during the rut, and understanding the seasons within the rut, and how it affects a deers behavior, is the key to putting a trophy above the fireplace. These three monsters are not yet in the rut, but they’re storing up their energy for it, hiding out in a reclusive bachelors club and feeding under cover of night. They’ve been flushed by something, probably a farmer checking a fence or a water source. Hell tell the guys at the coffee-shop about what he saw and hours will be spent in tree-stands hoping for a crack at them. Marc Pierce, Founder – Big Sky Carvers.
