Vintage 1996 Big Sky Carvers Wood Pine Carved Melvin Moose Antlers Sculpture
Vintage 1996 Big Sky Carvers solid pine wood carved brown “Melvin” moose statue. It will thus be sent in a considerably larger box to accommodate its tall size and for it to arrive safely. There are some scuffs and at the front of the feet there is a line. It does not appear to be a crack, just part of the wood. At the back of the feet and between the legs and tail are two splits. It has been this way for years since I got it though. With the antlers it measures 22.25″ tall and 8.5″ wide. Two Vintage Hand Carved Wooden Duck Decoys – Oscar M. Cortez & Big Sky Carvers. The first duck is the Oscar M Cortez which is signed and dated 1983. It is approximately 7 in long and 3.25 in wide. I don’t know the type of wood but the grain is absolutely beautiful. He has a tiny red stripe around his neck and black eyes. The second duck is the one by big sky carvers It is signed by Linda Williams. It is approximately 5.75 in long and 2.5 in wide. Has a green head and is flat on one side where the makers mark is. Vintage Big Sky Carvers William Bill Reel Rainbow Trout Fish Decoy Carving RARE
PHOTOS OF ACTUAL ITEM. Trout is full sized at 15 inches long. There has never been a more beautiful rainbow trout by Bill Reel than this one, Period! Deep yet vibrant colors in great detail and patina. The oversized heavy duty burl base is simply a looker just by itself and I have never seen a nicer burl base either. I would pay a fortune for it if I need a base to mount a carving. One of the pelvic fins was broken off and missing. All other parts in perfect new condition. It does not show when displayed as it should be (as in the first photo). I believe the fin came off in or right after it left the shop due to the position of the wood grub screw, setting the fish too close to the top of the base. This did happen to some of the big sky trout carvings I have seen and this does not mean that the item was defective or inappropriately handled.
