Rare Big Sky Carvers Fly Fishing Rod Reel Desk Lamp Light Cabin Decor
Rare retired rustic Big Sky Carvers fly fishing reel desk lamp light. The height can be adjusted by one of the sides. The screws could no longer hold the shade in place so silicone was used to attach it permanently. The shade has a crack in the inside/outside of one side along with a small chip at the bottom of the crack at the edge. There may be one or two other tiny nicks along the edge. Some of the oiled bronze finish has a bit of wear. The lamp itself works without any issues and is kind of heavy for its size in my opinion. Adjusted to its tallest point it measures 16.5″ tall and 17″ wide and at its shortest it is 11 tall. This is an Orvis Exclusive Edition Canvasback Drake Decorative Decoy. It was carved for Orvis by Big Sky Carvers of Boseman, Montana, and is signed by Thomas Chandler but not dated. The decoy is in excellent condition with no damage of any kind that we could observe. It is typical of Big Sky Decoys in that it is finished with paints and transparent stains that give it a rich, natural appearance. It measures about 15 inches long, 6.25 inches wide, and 7 inches tall. It weighs 2 pounds, 4 ounces. Big Sky Carvers made a large number of decorative decoys for many years. This decoy is one of a series they made for the Orvis Company. Canvasback ducks are uncommon in our area and are personal favorites. This decoy’s value is enhanced with the Orvis connection. It would look very nice in any man-cave, cabin, or lodge. It would be a treasured gift for any waterfowler and a nice addition to any collection of Big Sky Carver Decoys. Big Sky Carvers Green Head Drake Decoy for Man Cave, Cabin or Lodge This is a Big Sky Carvers Green Head Drake Decorative Decoy signed on the bottom by C. Fellows (Craig) and dated 1982. It is finished with paint and transparent stains that allow the wood grain to show through. It is a lovely stylistic decoy in near perfect condition for a decoy nearly 36 years old. We could find a tiny area of discoloration on the top of the head but it may have been there when the decoy was made. Typically, Big Sky Decoys have a branded logo on the bottom but this one does not have the logo for some reason. Possibly they had not begun using the branded logo yet as of that date in 1982. It is 15.5 inches long, five inches wide, and 4 inches tall and weighs about one 1.5 pounds. It is an unusual. We were unable to find any similar to it being offered. We love these Big Sky Carvers Decoys and, of course, recommend this one for any man cave, cabin, den, lodge, or collection.
