Big Sky Carvers Pheasant Carving Description and Item Information Up for sale is this pheasant carving or sculpture by Big Sky Carvers. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This bird is painted and stained wood, with glass eyes; the legs and feet are metal. One foot is affixed to an oval wooden base. This example has beautifully painted details. This piece measures approximately 10 7/16 inches tall by 6 3/4 inches wide by 19 3/4 inches long. Unpacked, it weighs 2 pounds 9.1 ounces. This would be a fine addition to a collection of bird carvings. Identification This decoy was made by Big Sky Carvers. The artist’s name appears on top of the oval base, Chris Olson. ” Set into the top of the oval base is a medallion which says, “Masters’ Edition Woodcarving Big Sky Carvers #14/450 USA Bozeman MT. Condition This carving looks very good overall, with light wear. It has no chips, cracks, or missing pieces. Terms of Sale 1. 2007 Big Sky Carvers Duck Decoy Description and Item Information Up for sale is this Mallard duck decoy or sculpture by Big Sky Carvers. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This duck is painted and stained wood, with glass eyes. It measures approximately 16 1/4 inches long by 6 1/4 inches wide by 6 1/2 inches tall. Unpacked, it weighs 2 pounds 5.5 ounces. This would be a fine addition to a collection of bird decoys. Identification This decoy was made by Big Sky Carvers. Markings beneath indicate that it was crafted in 2007. It is numbered beneath #1102. The artist’s name also appears beneath. It is believed to say, “Chris Linn, ” but it could say, Chris Limm. Condition The decoy looks very good overall, with light wear. Big Sky Carvers Chris Hindley Collection Decorative Mallard Green Head Decoy Fat
This is a Big Sky Carvers, Hindley Collection, Decorative Green Head Mallard Decoy. It was carved in 2003 and designed by artist Chris Hindley who is known for unique and stylistic carved decoys. It is in near perfect condition but does have a couple of slight dents on the right side of the head. The rest of the decoy is without flaw. It is 23 inches from tip of beak to tail, 5.75 inches wide, 7 inches at the highest part of the tail, and weighs 3 pounds, 4 ounces. We have loved Big Sky Carver Decoys for many years and this one is one of our favorites. We have had one other of the Hindley decoys, a carved pheasant, in a somewhat similar position, with the head lowered and the tail raised as if getting ready to scare off another feathered rival or intruder. The Hindley Decoys are not common if an internet search is any indication. This was the only one we could find available for sale. Please look at the photos and ask any questions. We thought it an unusual gift for anyone who loves waterfowl and great decoys, especially with Father’s Day approaching.
