Sculpture Statue Big Sky Carvers American Icon Bison Buffalo Cast Kauba Bronze
The handmade bronze sculpture captures an American buffalo roaming the grasslands with its massive herd. It’s textured shaggy, brown winter coat is ruffled by the cold winter wind that whips the open rolling expanse. Symbolically, the buffalo represents holiness and rejuvenation. The buffalo provides all good things for living and bestows great curing powers. The handmade bronze sculpture was molded using the archaic methods of lost-wax casting and stained with a brown patina finish. It is mounted upon a black marble base with the European Bronze Finery stamp of quality and the artist Carl Kauba’s signature. Condition: This sculpture is in perfect condition. Big Sky Carvers Preening Canvasvback Decorative Decoy Kissy Durham Man Cave
This is a Canvasback decorative decoy made by Big Sky Carvers. It is close to actual size and appears to be preening feathers with its neck curved back. It was made in 2000 and is signed by Kissy Durham and numbered 01131. It is in like new condition with virtually no imperfections. The decoy is hand painted and stained so that much of the wood grain shows through. It measures 12 inches long, 6.5 inches wide, 7.5 inches tall, and weighs not quite three pounds. Big Sky Carvers has made beautiful decorative decoys in Montana for many years and we have been lucky to have some and enjoy them. This one is very nice and typical of their work. We were unable to find another like it available. Please look carefully at the photos and see what yuouthink. It iwould be an exquisite gift for any waterfowler and look great in their den or man cave. Big Sky Carvers William Herrick Angler’s Wall Plaque Description and Item Information Up for sale is this Big Sky Carvers William Herrick Collection framed wall art. Please excuse any glare in the photos. Framed in an arts and crafts style, mission oak frame is this three dimensional, angling-themed panel; the frame has butterfly key joinery at the corners. The plaque depicts a creel, and net, and four books that a fisherman might read. This piece measures approximately 18 7/8 inches by 23 3/8 inches by 1 inch. Unpacked, it weighs 8 pounds 2.8 ounces. There is a wire affixed to the back for hanging. This would be a fine addition to a Big Sky Carvers collection or it would looks great in a rustic cabin style decor. Identification This piece was made by Big Sky Carvers. Verso, there is an oval brass plaque which says, THE William Herrick COLLECTION BIG SKY Carvers MANHATTAN MONTANA – USA. Big Sky Carvers Mallard Duck Family Description and Item Information Up for sale is this sculpture by Big Sky Carvers. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This sculpture has a mother duck and five ducklings, which are affixed to a wooden base. I believe the ducks are mallards. The mother has glass eyes and nicely painted details. This piece measures approximately 7 7/16 inches tall by 7 inches wide by 23 5/8 inches long. Unpacked, it weighs 4 pounds 9.6 ounces. This would be a fine addition to a collection of bird carvings. Identification This decoy was made by Big Sky Carvers. The title, the artist’s name, and the edition appear on the brass plaque, SWIMMING LESSON by Ken White 218/1250. ” Around the mother duck’s neck is a string with an affixed metal medallion which says, “BIG SKY CARVERS” and “PREMIER WOODCARVING HANDCRAFTED IN USA. The age of this estateitem is not known. Ken White is a Master Carver at Big Sky Carvers. Condition This sculpture looks very good overall, with very light wear. There is a small dent to the side rear of the mother duck’s head which has been filled with colored wax (see Photo 7); this does not detract overall. Terms of Sale 1. 1996 Super Rare Big Sky Carvers Hand Carved/Painted Wooden Moose 11
This is a very hard to find Jeff Fleming “Molly ” Moose from Big Sky Carvers 1996 Manhattan Montana. He stands about 11″ tall and about 4″ diameter. He is hand carved and painted. He is in excellent condition for his age, 21 years , legal to drink, but he does have a few , hard to find shrinkage cracks. If you are a collector, jump on this you may never find another!
