Big Sky Carvers Decorative Pintail Decoy signed/numbered Man Cave, Cabin Decor
This is a Big Sky Carvers Pintail Drake Decorative Decoy signed by Linda Williams (we think,) dated 2000, and numbered 1104. It is a bit larger than life size, about 18 inches long, What a gorgeous decoy this one is. It is in like new condition with no damage of any kind that we could find. It is solid wood, painted and stained with the head turned slightly almost in motion. It is 18 inches long, 7 inches wide, 8 inches tall, and weighs nearly 2 and 1/2 pounds. Big Sky Carvers, located in Boseman, Montana, made a range of beautiful decoys for a many of years. They could often be found at Ducks Unlimited events and were always poppular items. They hired a number of very talented artists to complete the painting of their decoys. This one is not common and we were unable to find any like it currently being offered. It is one of our favorites and I have had a hard time deciding to part with it. Please look it over closely and see what you think. It is a great gift idea and especially so if you have had the good fortune to bag one of these most beautiful of ducks. A great addition to a collection, man cave, den, or hunting lodge. Great hand-carved Big Sky Carvers bear designed by Jeff Fleming. It measures 11.5″ long and 5.5″ tall. There are some scratches, scuffs, and dents throughout but it it an adorable piece. Big Sky Carvers S. McMurry Pintail Drake Decorative Decoy Man Cave, Den or Cabin
Big Sky Carvers Pierce Brothers began making decorative decoys in their garage in the early 80’s in Boseman, Montana. They hired artists from the surrounding area to finish and paint their decoys and many of those artists became quite well known for their work. Eventually, the company expanded their product line to a varitey of animals, often bears and at some point the company changed ownership. Their decoys are not uncommon but depending on the artist and decoy, some are quite rare and they are not easily found. This Pintail drake dated 1999, signed by Sally McMurry, and numbered 1033 is one of my personal favorites and we invite you to take a closer look. It is in like new condition. It is near life size, 20 inches long, 5.5 inches wide, 7 inches tall and weighs over 2 pounds. Carved from solid wood, it is painted and stained to allow the wood grain to show through and is just very well done. We searched but could not find another like this one being offered. They are not available for sale any more from the company and owners just hang onto them. These Big Sky Carvers decoys are a great gift idea for any sportsman and look so good in that man cave, cabin, lodge, or den. We really cannot imagine anyone ever sending this one back. Big Sky Carvers Montana Painted Wood Quail Bevy Sculpture Decoy Masters’ Edition
Big Sky Carvers Masters’ Edition Quail Family Description and Item Information Up for sale is this quail carving, figurine, decoy, or sculpture by Big Sky Carvers. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This grouping depicts a covey, bevy, or flock of birds. The birds are painted and stained wood; the adults have glass eyes. The birds are affixed to a faux burl wood base that seems to be made from textured resin. This example has beautifully painted details. This piece measures approximately 10 3/4 inches tall by 9 7/8 inches wide by 11 inches long. Unpacked, it weighs 3 pounds 14.2 ounces. This would be a fine addition to a collection of Big Sky Carvers pieces. Identification This piece was made by Big Sky Carvers. Set into the base is a medallion which says, Masters’ Edition Woodcarving Big Sky Carvers #214/450 USA Bozeman MT. Condition This piece looks very good overall, with light wear. The adult male quail has a missing head plum / topknot; it was already broken off when I acquired it, so I do not have it. Otherwise, this piece has no chips or cracks. Terms of Sale 1.
