Big Sky Carvers Antique Series Greenhead Drake Decorative Decoy K. Basta
This is a Big Sky Carvers Mallard Drake Decorative Decoy signed by K. It is painted with a paint that gives a drying, cracked antique look which is sort of appealing and we believe was one of a series they did in the 1990s. We have had a few other Big Sky Carver decoys by K. Basta and they were all very well done. This one is quite unique and we were not able to find another identical to it. It is in like new condition with no marks or damage that we could find. Please look at the photos. It is near life size, 16 inches long, 5.5 inches wide, 7 inches tall, and weighing 2 pounds 4 ounces. It is harder and harder to find Big Sky Carvers Decoys such as this one. Their new lines are often made of resin in China. We really prefer the original ones made in Montana and, even though this is not their earliest, it is still made in America. It would be very nice in a man-cave, den, lodge, or cabin, places where you just never have enough decorative decoys. Here is a gorgeous hard to find, seldom offered and very collectible Fat Cardinal Cookie Jar Set with matching Salt & Pepper Shakers by Phillis Driscoll and Big Sky Carvers. Very hard to find these complete Sets. This is used but in very good condition with minimal wear on the outside (see photos) and like new unused condition on the inside (see photos). Big Sky Carvers Montana Wood Lodgepole Stumpy Santa 18 Tall Rare Retired Solid Pine. Santa is 18″ tall, and bottom of his black boots measure 8″ x 7, and is holding a pipe. Santa is carved on solid western pine so he is heavy. The packaged weight is 17 lbs. And box is 21″ x 15 x 16″. Santa comes in his original box with papers explaining how he was carved and instructions for care. This is a rare and retired Santa. On the box, previous owner wrote “Stumpy Santa 12/31/02″. We found only one other like this Santa on the internet. I do my best to describe each item to the best of my ability. My items will never be perfect due to age. Adorable dog-themed Nativity set made by Big Sky Carvers. It is the Dogtivity Set #1. It includes Mary (Black Lab), Joseph (German Shepherd), Baby Jesus (Westie), 2 Angels suspended on wire attached to tree trunks (Poodle and Chihuahua), a shepherd (Yellow Lab) and a King (Pug). This set is extremely hard to find. All pieces are in mint condition, no chips or scratches and comes from a non-smoking home. The pictures didn’t come out that great – colors look much better in person than the pictures portray. Sizes of pieces are as follows. Black Lab (Mary) 4-3/4″ high x 3″ long. German Shepherd (Joseph) 6″ high x 4″ long. Yellow Lab (Shepherd) 2″ high x 6″ long. Westie (Baby Jesus) 2″ high x 2-1/2″ long. Pug (King) 3″ high x 3-1/2″ long.
