Big Sky Carvers Bufflehead Drake Decorative Decoy Man Cave, Cabin, or Lodge
This is a lovely Big Sky Carvers Bufflehead Drake decorative decoy painted by K. It has the Big Sky Carvers, Boseman, Montana, logo branded on the bottom but it is not dated. The decoy is close to life size, about 10 inches from beak to tail. It is 4.25 inches wide, 5.25 inches tall, and weighs about 14 ounces. This one is in near perfect condition but it does have a few tiny dents on its back and they are visible in the photos. We have loved Big Sky Carvers’ Decoys for many years. They typically are painted by extremely talented artists who used stains and paints to bring them to life. They were often found in Ducks Unlimited events and have been made since the 1980’s. They make a wonderful gift for any sportsman and look great in any man cave or collection. It is a bit larger than life size, about 18 inches long, What a gorgeous decoy this one is. It is in like new condition with no damage of any kind that we could find. It is solid wood, painted and stained with the head turned slightly almost in motion. It is 18 inches long, 7 inches wide, 8 inches tall, and weighs nearly 2 and 1/2 pounds. Big Sky Carvers, located in Boseman, Montana, made a range of beautiful decoys for a many of years. They could often be found at Ducks Unlimited events and were always poppular items. They hired a number of very talented artists to complete the painting of their decoys. This one is not common and we were unable to find any like it currently being offered. It is one of our favorites and I have had a hard time deciding to part with it. Please look it over closely and see what you think. It is a great gift idea and especially so if you have had the good fortune to bag one of these most beautiful of ducks. A great addition to a collection, man cave, den, or hunting lodge. Big Sky Carvers S. McMurry Pintail Drake Decorative Decoy Man Cave, Den or Cabin
Big Sky Carvers Pierce Brothers began making decorative decoys in their garage in the early 80’s in Boseman, Montana. They hired artists from the surrounding area to finish and paint their decoys and many of those artists became quite well known for their work. Eventually, the company expanded their product line to a varitey of animals, often bears and at some point the company changed ownership. Their decoys are not uncommon but depending on the artist and decoy, some are quite rare and they are not easily found. This Pintail drake dated 1999, signed by Sally McMurry, and numbered 1033 is one of my personal favorites and we invite you to take a closer look. It is in like new condition. It is near life size, 20 inches long, 5.5 inches wide, 7 inches tall and weighs over 2 pounds. Carved from solid wood, it is painted and stained to allow the wood grain to show through and is just very well done. We searched but could not find another like this one being offered. Big Sky Carvers Preening Canvasvback Decorative Decoy Kissy Durham Man Cave
This is a Canvasback decorative decoy made by Big Sky Carvers. It is close to actual size and appears to be preening feathers with its neck curved back. It was made in 2000 and is signed by Kissy Durham and numbered 01131. It is in like new condition with virtually no imperfections. The decoy is hand painted and stained so that much of the wood grain shows through. It measures 12 inches long, 6.5 inches wide, 7.5 inches tall, and weighs not quite three pounds. Big Sky Carvers has made beautiful decorative decoys in Montana for many years and we have been lucky to have some and enjoy them. This one is very nice and typical of their work. We were unable to find another like it available. Please look carefully at the photos and see what yuouthink. It iwould be an exquisite gift for any waterfowler and look great in their den or man cave.
