Big Sky Carvers – Morton Moose by Jeff Fleming – 1996. This is an early example of “Morton Moose” with a turned piece of wood with a miss matched patch of wood and colorant (photographed). Manufacturers added wood to complete the carving blocks; this is very common among wood duck decoy carvers. CONDITION: good used condition with some scuffs, light scratches, and shelf wear. Manufactures flaw in the side with a different type of wood patched in to the carving block. Fresh estate find from a non-smoking home. Overall length is 20? Width at antlers is 17. Brass tag on moose hip “BIG SKY CARVERS MONTANA 1996″. Wonderfully carved moose with removable antlers and a charismatic look.
