Coat rack with 4 hooks. Big Sky Bears JASPER. Bears by Jeff Fleming. Heavy solid resin – two triangle style mounting hooks on back. 3 1\8 x 1 3/4 inches. Back has a few areas of raised up white paint. Did not clean off as it appears to be part of the manufacturing process. Also on the back a few scratches near mounting hooks. Fleming Big Sky Carvers 3 Bear Cubs Picnic Campsite Cabin Wildlife Art Sculpture
The sculpture measures 9 1/2″ tall 13″ wide and 10 deep and weighs over 6 1/2lbs. The sculpture show a mother bear along with two cubs investigating an unoccupied campsite. The mother bear is exiting a small tent with one of her cubs digging thru a backpack while the other is resting its paws on a log with a caught fish. The base is signed JMF and bottom reads Big Sky Carvers J. Fleming Sculpture Collection 2010 “The Trespassers ” see all pics. Big Sky Carvers Trout Table. William Herrick Trout Stream end table furniture collection by Big Sky Carvers. These are very unique items and if you are looking at it without already being familiar with the artist or company this was made by Big Sky Carvers. The table has a quarter-sawn, hand-rubbed solid wood frame proudly displaying the incredible, hand-painted interior. The interior top displays a lifelike trout stream scene including trout, stream bottom rocks, leafs and rod/reel. It has a beveled glass top. The end table is approx. Notice picture showing one corner of wood has some slight water damage. Original owner of this beautiful Anglers Occasional table and has been lovingly used in a smoke free home. This common loon signed by artist J. Oriet from Big Sky Carvers in Bozeman Montana is in fantastic used condition. There will be a few minor surface scratches here and there and maybe a smudge or two if you look close enough but th finish has a very nice sheen to it, the glass eyes glow ever so slightly when the light hits them at the right angle and the brush strokes from the artist are fantastic. This is a Big Sky Carvers Pintail Drake Decorative Decoy. It was finished by Sally McMurry and has her signature on the bottom but no date. It also has the Big Sky Carvers Branded logo on the underneath. The logo is from after they moved from Boseman, MT, to Manhattan, MT, so that gives a better guess as to its age. Typical of Big Sky Carver Decoys, it is finished with hand painting and the use of transparent stains that allow the wood grain to show through. It is near life size, measuring 20 inches from beak to tail, 7 inches tall, and 5\. It weighs 2 pounds 8 ounces. We have been fond of Big Sky Carvers Decoys since they began in the early 1980’s. The Company employed some very talented local artists and their decoys are so well done. We prefer these older versions. This guy is near perfect with a tiny nick on its head, and another on the end of its tail. Pintails are a favorite of most waterfowls for their stunning beauty, which this decoy captures. This is a Big Sky Carvers Canvasback Drake Decorative Decoy. It was painted by artist, Chris Lynn, ands her signature on the underneath along with the Big Sky Carvers Logo Brand. It is not dated but the Company relocated to Manhattan, MT, from Boseman, MT, in 1987 so it must have been made after that time. The decoy is life size and in wonderful condition. It does have a small dent on its left side and some tiny marks on the left side of its head. Both have to be in the right light to be visible. It is like size measuring 15 inches from beak to tail. It is 7.5 inches tall and 6.5 inches wide. It weighs 2 pounds 7 ounces. Big Sky Carvers began in Boseman, Montana, in the early 80’s. They are known for making high quality decorative decoys. The employed local artists to finish their decoys and many of their artists were very talented, as this one shows. Their decoys add to about any collection. We love seeing Canvasbacks in the wild and recommend this one as a great gift for any sportsman who has an appreciate for this stunning bird. Big Sky Carvers Common Loon Decoy-Man Cave, Cabin, Lodge, or Den
This is a Common Loon made by Big Sky Carvers of Bozeman, Mt. It is signed on the bottom by its artist, Parke Goodman, and has the Big Sky Carvers Brand on the underneath. There is no date on the Loon but Big Sky Carvers moved their Company from Boseman to Manhattan, Mt, in 1987 so it must have been made prior to that date. The Loon Decoy is close to life size, maybe a bit smaller. It measures 16.5 inches from beak to tail. It is 5.25 inches wide and 6 inches tall. It weighs nearly 2 pounds. This Loon is typical of Big Sky Carvers Decoys in that it is made of pine, hand painted by a very talented artist, and makes a very handsome bird look so good. The paints and finishes they used allow the wood grain to show which adds to their beauty. The Company may still be in business but after an early focus on decorative decoys, they expanded to carvings of bears and other animals, furniture, and other items. If they are still making decoys, they most likely are made in Asia. In my view, the early decoys made in the 1980’s are high quality treasures done by outstanding artists from the local community. Please study the photos and see what you think. It is nearly perfect. We could find one very tiny dent and a couple of white spots on its back where the resin in the pine may have bled through the paint. Big Sky Carvers Master’s Edition Mallard Drake-Man Cave, Cabin, Lodge, or Den
This is a large Master’s Edition Mallard Drake made by Big Sky Carvers of Manhattan, Mt. The Drake is resting on what appears to be a driftwood limb. On the underneath of the limb, there is a medallion that says, Master’s Edition, Big Sky Carvers, Manhattan, Mt. The medallion is numbered 302 of 1250 but we could not find a signature of an artist or a date. The decoy is well done, if fact we wondered if it might be resin so we drilled a tiny hole and the actual decoy is carved from solid pine. The base is made of resin and the decoy carved separately but solidly attached. The Duck is a bit larger than life, measuring 16 inches from its chest to its tail. The carving weighs about 6.5 pounds. We searched for another decoy similar to this one with no success, so it is a bit of a mystery to us. It is well done and quite attractive. We would think a master carver would have signed it though… Anyway pricing is a guess and we invite your offer and any information you may have regarding it.
