“After Practice” by artist Bradford Williams for Big Sky Carvers: a tired black Labrador retriever resting its head on a redhead duck decoy after a long session of retrieving drills. Big Sky Carvers was founded in Montana in 1980 and spent its first decade making waterfowl decoys before becoming known for wildlife and sporting sculpture. Bradford Williams designed many of their heritage pieces, and his dog-and-decoy scenes are favorites with duck hunters and Lab lovers. The label on the bottom names the piece, the artist and the maker. A perfect gift for a hunter, a retriever trainer or anyone who has ever owned a Lab that falls asleep on the job.
