Abercrombie & Fitch Decorative Canadian Goose Decoy-Big Sky Carvers
This is a Decorative Canadian Goose Decoy. It has a brand on the underneath that says, Exclusively Designed for Abercrombie & Fitch. It is also signed by S. Huntsman and has ” Canadian Goose, ” written in their handwriting. It is not dated. It is near perfect but does have a few very slight nicks on its head and also a couple of small blemishes in the paint on its side, which appear to be how the artist left it. Photos give a clear picture. We thought it to be a wonderful decoy. Smaller than life-size, it measures 15 inches from beak to tail. It is 8 inches tall, 6.5 inches wide and weighs 2 pounds, 9 ounces. Our best guess is that it was made for Abercrombie and Fitch by Big Sky Carvers of Manhattan, Montana, probably in the 1990’s. It has been hand painted by a very skilled artist with each feather showing lifelike detail. Anyway, the Abercrombie name helps its value. We thought it a special gift for anyone who appreciates the beauty of a Canadian Goose, whether they pursue them in the field or not.

The colors are rich and dreamy – deep browns and creamy creams make this a fall decorators dream. It’s so realistic looking, we can almost imagine him taking flight across the September sky. The condition of the piece is very good, In very solid wood, it’s a hefty specimen and will require a place of honor to show him off in your home. There are cosmetic issues, as the paint is very worn in areas throughout. It also broke at one point and was glued back on by someone. This is shown in the pictures. For sale is a extremely rare hand carved & painted Big Sky Carvers “Remington Classic Decoy Collection” Canadian Goose sculpture signed by artist K. This carving was specifically made in collaboration with Remington Arms Company, it’s very hard to find and nearly never enters the market. The carving overall is in fantastic condition, there are only a few small marks on the back of the goose (close up pictures are above). Measures 9.5″ tall and 16-17″ long. Has a Remington shotgun slug casing imbedded into the bottom. This is a grail piece for a Remington and/or decoy collection. The item is pre-owned and without it’s original packaging. Item may have marks, grime, discoloration, etc. If there are known missing/broken pieces, it will be mentioned above, general wear is not marked under defects and must be assessed for yourself by carefully inspecting the images.
