Limited Edition Big Sky Carvers Mallard Hen with Ducklings Motherhood Series Signed By Ashley Gray. Up for sell is a Big Sky Carvers motherhood series resin casting. This casting depicts a mallard hen and three ducklings at rest. This casting comes from expert carver Ashley Gray. The hen is expertly painted in full plumage and has glass eyes. The three ducklings are cuddled up together, two are resting and one is “keeping watch”. Casting is marked “Motherhood Series by Ashley Gray” and numbered 218/1950. Most notable condition issue is some chips to the back feathers. Otherwise this piece is in excellent condition. Please look a all pictures before purchasing. Some wear to the wood base which could easily be covered with scratch coverup but wanted you to see the original condition.. I didn’t notice and dings or cracks.. This sculpture has a mother duck and five ducklings, which are affixed to a wooden base. The mother has glass eyes and nicely painted details. This piece measures approximately 7 7/16 inches tall by 7 inches wide by 23 5/8 inches long. Unpacked, it weighs 4 pounds 9.6 ounces. This would be a fine addition to a collection of bird carvings. Identification This decoy was made by Big Sky Carvers. The title, the artists name, and the edition appear on the brass plaque, SWIMMING LESSON by Ken White 170/1250. The age of this estate item is not known. Ken White is a Master Carver at Big Sky Carvers. Condition This sculpture looks very good overall. New or Used: Used. Big Sky Carvers Mallard Duck Family Description and Item Information Up for sale is this sculpture by Big Sky Carvers. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This sculpture has a mother duck and five ducklings, which are affixed to a wooden base. I believe the ducks are mallards. The mother has glass eyes and nicely painted details. This piece measures approximately 7 7/16 inches tall by 7 inches wide by 23 5/8 inches long. Unpacked, it weighs 4 pounds 9.6 ounces. This would be a fine addition to a collection of bird carvings. The title, the artist’s name, and the edition appear on the brass plaque, SWIMMING LESSON by Ken White 218/1250. ” Around the mother duck’s neck is a string with an affixed metal medallion which says, “BIG SKY CARVERS” and “PREMIER WOODCARVING HANDCRAFTED IN USA. The age of this estateitem is not known. Ken White is a Master Carver at Big Sky Carvers. Condition This sculpture looks very good overall, with very light wear. There is a small dent to the side rear of the mother duck’s head which has been filled with colored wax (see Photo 7); this does not detract overall. Terms of Sale 1. Ashley Gray Big Sky Carvers Carved Wood Mama Duck & Ducklings; Signed. This lovely carving is from the Motherhood Series by Big Sky Carvers of Bozeman Montana. It was done by Ashley Gray and features a Mama Mallard and her two adorable ducklings. It is signed on the bottom and has a metal tag showing it was a Masters Edition #235 out of 1250. The piece measures about 14 by 13 by 8-1/2 tall. It has been well cared for and is in excellent condition with the exception of a mark where something fell off a shelf and dented the carving (see the last photo).
