Big Sky Bear Carvers Jeff Fleming Hand Carved Table Lamp 30 Tall
Big Sky Bears Carvers by Jeff Fleming. Bearfoot Bear Table Lamp. Wonderful hand carved table lamp from Big Sky Bear Carvers by Jeff Fleming. Hand carved base of a black bear with glass eyes, amazing detail! Original lamp shade is cream with stenciled pinecone and leaves. Total height with shade attached is 30 tall. 7″x7″ and is 16 tall. Condition: The wooden base is in very nice condition with no blemishes that I can find. The metal rod extending from the base has some slight scaping, it looks like a sticker was attached and scraped off… Could be easily touched up with black paint, I have not tried to clean or retouch. The shade has a small area of separation in the back at the top and a two “dented” areas… These are at the back of the shade and not noticeable from the front. Big Sky Carvers Chris Hindley Collection Fighting Rooster Pheasant
This is a hand painted carving of a Rooster Pheasant done by Big Sky Carvers based upon an original by artist, Chris Hindley. It is dated 2005 but is not signed by an artist. The Rooster is in a fighting position and is near life size being nearly 28 inches from beak to tail. It is not numbered and we do not know how many were made but our search did not discover any currently being offered for sale which is not surprising because it is a stunning work of art. Why would anyone part with one of these! We have two of them. It is about 21 inches tall and 4.5 inches at the widest part of its body. It is 27.5 inches from its beak to the end of its tail and it weighs 2 pounds, 5 ounces. Big Sky Carvers created some wonderful carvings, mainly of waterfowl in the Boseman, Montana area for a number of years. Their decorative decoys were usually so well done. They employed a number of local artists to finish their carvings. The creator of this particular carving, Chris Hindley is from the U. And is known for creative carvings. This one is our favorite. Look it over closely and see what you think. It is fragile with that long wood tail but in wonderful condition. There may be a small dent or tiny nick in a couple of places but nothing of any consequence. It appears like new. Pricing is a guess but these are very nice and difficult to find.
