1991 Big Sky Carvers Bozeman MT 21 Mallard Ducks Unlimited Decoy John Gewerth
This listing is for a hand-carved wooden duck decoy made for Ducks Unlimited. The underside is clearly marked Ducks Unlimited 1991 – South Dakota – Special Edition, produced by Big Sky Carvers, Bozeman, MT, and is signed by the carver John Geuerth on the bottom. Original Ducks Unlimited medallion is intact. This is a solid wood decoy, nicely weighted at approximately 4.98 lbs as shown in the photos. Approximate overall size is 21 inches long, about 7 inches wide, and about 8 inches tall. The paint and carving detail are very well done, with natural feather texturing and classic mallard coloring. These are cosmetic only and do not affect the structure or appearance when displayed. No cracks, repairs, or breaks observed. This appears to have been a display piece, not a field-used decoy. The wood is solid, seams are clean, and the carving remains tight and intact. A great example for collectors of Ducks Unlimited items, Big Sky Carvers work, or hand-carved wooden decoys. Please review all photos carefully, as they are part of the description and show exact condition, markings, measurements, and weight.
