Big Sky Carvers Preening Green Head Drake-Cabin, Lodge, Den, Decor
This is a Big Sky Carvers Mallard Drake Decorative Decoy carved in a preening pose. It was made in the year 2000, is signed by the artist, Chris Linn, and is numbered 1126. Photos give a good description. It is in good shape with a few tiny nicks. On the front on the forehead there are some tiny light colored lines, possibly wood sap, that appear to be there from when it was finished. It is life size, measuring 13.5 inches from chest to tail. It is 7.25 inches tall, 6.5 inches wide, and weighs just over 2 pounds. We have loved Big Sky Carvers Decoys over the years and this is a nice one. It has the typical hand painted finish using paints and transparent stains. The turned, preening head adds to its beauty. By 2000 Big Sky Carvers were located in Manhattan, Montana, and the Company had undergone ownership changes. This decoy is more typical of their earlier decoys though It would make a great gift decoy for a young hunter or anyone who has enjoyed seeing this beautiful, and common, bird in the wild.

Big Sky Carvers Duck Decoy Wood signed 2001 limited edition Preening Mallard. There is a ding on the decoy on one of the wings and is pictured. Measures approximately 14″ by 6″. Very hard to come by this exact big sky duck and was unable to find any one online. This is signed by the artist and is number and is from 2001 is all the information I have on this. I’ve seen others with the same date that were numbered but different ducks and they sell for around 150 to 250 so pricing in the middle and will accept a reasonable offer. Big Sky Carvers Bill Kennedy Preening Black Duck Decoy
The decoy is in excellent all original condition with no damage that I can see. But please look at all of the pictures as Im no expert and I try to describe the items the best that I can. The decoy measures about 16 long by 6 across and 5 high. The deco is marked 1/8/2013 and has the Bill Kennedy burned stamp on the bottom as seen in the photos. Big Sky Carvers Preening Canvasback Decoy-Man Cave, Cabin, Den, Lodge Decor
This is a preening Canvasback Decorative Decoy made by Big Sky Carvers of Manhattan, Montana. It has the Big Sky Carver’s Logo on the underneath along with the signature of the artist, Kristi Jones, who painted it; the date of 2000; and the number 01131. Typical of Big Sky Carvers Decoys, it is finished with a combination of paints and stains that make a beautiful bird look almost better than real life. It appears new but does have a few very small dents that prove it is 20 years old. It is close to life size being 12 inches long, 6.25 inches wide, and 8.25 inches tall. It weighs 2 pounds, 4 ounces. Big Sky Carvers began in the 1970’s in Boseman Montana. They were highly regarded for their decorative decoys and their business was quite successful. Canvasback reflects the quality of their products. Please look at the photos as they are part of its description.
