Big Sky Carvers Antique Series Greenhead Drake Decorative Decoy K. Basta
This is a Big Sky Carvers Mallard Drake Decorative Decoy signed by K. It is painted with a paint that gives a drying, cracked antique look which is sort of appealing and we believe was one of a series they did in the 1990s. We have had a few other Big Sky Carver decoys by K. Basta and they were all very well done. This one is quite unique and we were not able to find another identical to it. It is in like new condition with no marks or damage that we could find. Please look at the photos. It is near life size, 16 inches long, 5.5 inches wide, 7 inches tall, and weighing 2 pounds 4 ounces. It is harder and harder to find Big Sky Carvers Decoys such as this one. Their new lines are often made of resin in China. We really prefer the original ones made in Montana and, even though this is not their earliest, it is still made in America. It would be very nice in a man-cave, den, lodge, or cabin, places where you just never have enough decorative decoys. VINTAGE Big Sky Carvers Montana Large 23 Hanging Climbing Black Bear Wood
Just an adorable and hard to find, carved wood black bear Jeff Fleming? By Big Sky Carvers. Meant to hang, either on a deck railing, window sill, etc let your imagination go wild! Its a large sized piece, 23 inches long by 7 inches wide by 7 inches deep, has predrilled holes on his paws, ready to go. I do not believe this piece has actually been hung, there are no wood burrs to indicate otherwise. I bought it from someone who said they didnt use it, and I know I havent used it. I wish I could but my deck gets a tremendous amount of sun and I really would rather it be well taken care of. So, its a hand made piece, as such there are small imperfections. Also, I dont know where the white rub came from, its not that noticeable but again, its there. There is also a small piece of wood out near the back ear, it looks like it came out from where the knot in the wood is located. I cannot confirm if the extra paint around happened at manufacture or after. I know I didnt do it! Its a spectacular piece, Im nit-picking to make sure the next owner is just as happy as I was to have it, even if I couldnt get it mounted.
