It also has on the underneath a brand that says, Made Exclusively for Cabela’s, Big Sky Carvers, Boseman, MT. It is hand painted and finished with a combination of paints and stains that capture the loon’s beauty. Near life size, it is 17 inches from beak to tail and weighs 1 pound, 13 ounces. Big Sky Carvers of Boseman, Montana, made a range of decoys from the late 70’s, some of which were made for other companies such as Cabela’s for sale in their retail stores. They employed a number of local artists who became very skilled in painting and finishing the decoys which were much sought after during those years, and still today.
